Tada! My first emoticon set! Wootles! This represents the first wave in what I hope will be a continuing series of emotes 'Movie Maniacs'. A little collection of some of my favorite flick characters from horror movies (Eric Draven and Lord Of Darkness not withstanding, I just wanted them in the first wave). The pictures, which I'm sure you think are actual stills of the actors are actually pictures of action figures made by McFarlane toys *plug plug plug* and a couple of other lesser known companies (the only pics that aren't of action figures are Ash and Pennywise). Now you see why I think action figures are ART?!

Ok, I won't try and spread the fangirly word about McFarlane anymore...instead, I'll describe the emotes now.

Wow, there's twelve of 'em. I wanted to do thirteen, but I couldn't get the requested Pumpkinhead to look right x_x so I, in true Techie fashion, gave up. To think, it all came about because of a week long Freddy obsession, one emote made on a lark and one ego boosting remark from . Amazing what a *little* encouragement and alot of boredom can do, isn't it?

What? I dislocated my knee and can't really do much of anything. It was something to entertain myself with.

I'm really very, very pleased with this set. It's my first real foray into the world of emotes, and I think I did a pretty good job. Aside from the fact they don't have transparent backgrounds, but hey, I don't have photoshop, so get off me. I'll work on a second wave of emotes as soon as I figure out which horror movie icons I wanna do next, so any ideas would be greatly appreciated. If anyone who has a horror related forum would like to use these, please do, just tell me about it and give me credit. These things didn't make themselves you know.

More indepth descriptions accompany the emotes on their own pages, the links to which are below, also if you want to favorite/comment on individual emotes in the series.

No, no, won't kill you...not in a homicidal mood today.

If you're into horror movies, then I would suggest going off and finding a place to rent these flicks, they're all well worth the time, I promise you. If you're not into 'horror' per se, a couple up there aren't 'exactly' horror movies. Army Of Darkness for instance is campy, The Crow is more of an action movie and Legend is in the fantasy genre. If I were to recommend one thing above all the others up there though, it would be The Evil Dead trilogy (Army Of Darkness is the third and final instalment of it). The trilogy is my personal favorite because the films can be explained thusly-

Evil Dead 1-They were trying to make an honest to goodness terrifying movie, and they *almost* succeeded (The Alpo dog food monster guts at the end, while they may have been cutting edge at the time, don't hold up by todays standards)

Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn-The guys working on this one realized that they couldn't do a really terrifying movie, so they put a bunch more humor in it

Army Of Darkness (Evil Dead 3)-They gave up trying to make a horror movie and turned it into pure, lovable, wonderful camp. It's cheesy in all the right ways. That and the fact that Bruce Campbell was way dreamy at the time, makes this one my favorite :XD:

Anyways, it's no big deal if you aren't into horror, but if you ever want to get into it, these would be the ones I would start with.
